One of Médoc's most storied properties

  • Owned by the Borie family since 1978, Grand-Puy Lacoste remains one of the Médoc's longest-established estates. The vineyard's consistent quality reflects generations of stewardship and deep knowledge of its terroir.
  • This 2021 achieves remarkable equilibrium: a wine of genuine elegance and charm, with mineral freshness and a sustained, aromatic finish. The structure speaks of careful élevage and ripe, integrated tannins.
  • A wine of genuine ageing potential. Whilst approachable now, laying down a few bottles will reward patience and allow the wine's complexity to develop further over the coming years.

Breeding
In French oak barrels (fine grain) with 75% new wood for 16 to 18 months
On the eye
Deep purple-red with brilliant intensity and clarity
On the nose
Ripe dark fruit aromas—blackcurrant and plum—with violet and subtle spice notes. A mineral freshness runs throughout, characteristic of the appellation.
In the mouth
The attack is precise and linear, unfolding into well-ripened, finely integrated tannins. The palate shows excellent definition and a long, pure finish with lingering aromatic complexity.
M. Francois
A natural companion to beef dishes with depth and spice—a braised beef with warm spices showcases the wine's structure and aromatic character beautifully. The wine's balance makes it equally suited to richer poultry preparations or game.
