A cornerstone for any serious wine collection

  • This Fifth Growth merits its classification through harmonious balance and silken texture. The 2021 vintage demonstrates the precision and restraint that define Pontet-Canet's approach to Pauillac, rewarding both immediate enjoyment and patient cellaring.
  • A wine of considerable power held in elegant check. Ripe cassis and dark plum are framed by fine-grained tannins and subtle oak influence, creating a structure that will develop gracefully over the coming years.

Product features : Chateau Pontet-Canet - 5eme Cru Classé 2021 — Pauillac — Organic

Breeding
Aged in oak barrels for 16 months.
On the eye
Deep ruby-red robe with excellent clarity and concentration
On the nose
Aromas of cassis and dark berries, with secondary notes of liquorice, dried figs, and subtle graphite minerality. The bouquet unfolds gradually, revealing layers of complexity.
In the mouth
The palate shows admirable harmony: ripe fruit, refined tannin structure, and well-judged acidity work in concert. The finish is persistent and elegant, with a mineral quality that speaks to the gravelly terroir of Pauillac.
M. Francois
A wine of genuine versatility at table. It will accompany red meat dishes with distinction—particularly braised beef, duck confit, or game—and suits substantial sauces without dominating them. The balance and structure suggest cellaring potential of fifteen to twenty years, though it offers considerable pleasure in its youth.
