  • This is a wine that rewards patience. Whilst approachable now, Clinet's 2020 vintage will develop considerably over the next decade, revealing greater complexity and refinement with time in the cellar.
  • Château Clinet has long been recognised for the distinctive character and consistent quality of its wines. The estate's meticulous approach to viticulture and winemaking ensures wines of real substance and personality.
  • The generous aromatics of Merlot are fully expressed here: ripe dark berries, floral notes, and subtle spice create a wine of considerable appeal and depth.

Product features : Chateau Clinet 2020 — Pomerol

Breeding
Approximately 16 months in French oak barrels (of which approximately 75% new wood).
On the eye
A luminous, deep purple robe. Clear and bright, with excellent clarity.
On the nose
The bouquet reveals dark berry fruit, violet, rose petals, and warm spice. The aromatics are inviting and well-defined, speaking to the wine's quality and careful élevage.
In the mouth
Excellent balance between richness and finesse. The palate is structured yet refined, with ripe tannins and good length. A wine of substance that finishes with elegance.
M. Francois
Clinet 2020 pairs beautifully with beef dishes: consider a bavette with peppercorn sauce and seasonal vegetables. The wine's structure and depth will complement the richness of the meat whilst the acidity cleanses the palate. Also excellent with game or mature cheeses.

CHATEAU CLINET

On the high plateau of Pomerol, Château Clinet works 11 hectares of deep clay and Günzian gravels at the heart of one of Bordeaux's most sought-after appellations. With vines recorded as far back as 1595, this is among the oldest properties in Pomerol; since Jean-Louis Laborde acquired it in 1999, and with Ronan Laborde at the helm from 2003, the estate has been steered with quiet rigour — earning HVE certification in 2021. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the precision of its terroir — iron-rich crasse de fer, clay, and sand — and for a style that expresses Pomerol with honesty and without artifice. A Bordeaux reference we are genuinely proud to list.
