  • A wine of considerable refinement: fresh yet dense, with silken texture and mineral elegance. The structure suggests a wine that has aged with remarkable composure, developing layers of complexity without sacrificing its essential purity.
  • The bouquet reveals the signature character of Cheval Blanc: violet and peony notes from Cabernet Franc, interwoven with red and dark fruit aromas of compelling depth and subtlety. A wine of genuine complexity.

Breeding
16 to 18 months in 100% new oak barrels
On the eye
Intense ruby-red with violet reflections in youth, evolving to a deep, lustrous garnet that speaks to considerable phenolic concentration.
On the nose
Complex and layered: red and dark fruits combine with the distinctive floral signature of Cabernet Franc—violet and peony—in a composition of considerable refinement and aromatic depth.
In the mouth
Fine attack followed by a rich, dense palate with silken texture. The finish is marked by fresh red fruit and mineral elegance, with a lingering aromatic persistence that speaks to the wine's structure and breeding.
M. Francois
Cheval Blanc's defining quality is its timelessness. Unlike more opulent neighbours, it eschews raw power for purity. This is a wine that achieves both the complexity of a great Médoc and the voluptuousness of a Libournais wine. Its reputation rests on remarkable consistency: even in challenging vintages, it maintains an elegance and balance that few wines in the world can match.
