Product features : Albert Boxler Pinot Gris Sommerberg W Grand Cru 2016 — Alsace Pinot Gris

In the mouth
Fresh and finely wrought, with elegant structure and considerable aromatic persistence. The tannins are refined and well-integrated, supporting a long, mineral finish
On the nose
Citrus aromatics meld with warm spice notes—paprika, cinnamon, and coffee bean—creating a complex, evolving bouquet that speaks to the vineyard's mineral character
On the eye
Deep golden yellow, with luminous intensity and considerable depth of colour
Breeding
Aged on lees in old wooden vats.
M. Francois
A wine of considerable versatility. It performs with distinction alongside foie gras, spiced veal tagines, and Creole preparations. The mineral backbone and preserved fruit character make it equally rewarding as a contemplative glass, particularly as it develops further in bottle over the coming years.

DOMAINE ALBERT BOXLER

Based in Niedermorschwihr in the Haut-Rhin, Domaine Albert Boxler farms 14 hectares of steep granite hillsides under the Alsace appellation, with yields deliberately held to 30–35 hl/ha. The Boxler family has been rooted in this village since 1672; Albert Boxler made the estate's first domaine-bottling in 1946, a standard his grandson Jean has upheld since taking the helm in 1996. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the precision, tension and mineral drive of its whites — Riesling above all — drawn from lean granitic soils that give the wines a clarity and backbone rarely matched in Alsace. A discreet but thoroughly reliable address for lovers of great dry whites.
