Pomerol authenticity, organically farmed

  • A classical Pomerol that expresses the appellation's character with clarity and restraint. This is the pleasure of a serious Bordeaux, without pretension.
  • The wine displays a long, elegant finish with silky, well-integrated tannins—precisely what distinguishes the finest Pomerols from lesser examples.
  • Straightforward and expressive, this is a wine that speaks for itself. No artifice, simply the terroir and the vintage rendered faithfully.

Breeding
Approximately 20 months in oak barrel from Tronçais forest
On the eye
Deep garnet with ruby highlights. A colour that suggests maturity and balance.
On the nose
The bouquet unfolds with pleasing complexity, revealing layers of dark fruit and subtle earthiness. The nose gains in depth as the wine opens in the glass.
In the mouth
Black fruits dominate the palate, supported by a full, generous body. The finish is persistent and clean, with tannins that are ripe and enveloping rather than austere.
M. Francois
A wine of genuine merit with food. Serve it with roasted red meats, lamb in sauce, or game birds. The structure and balance make it a natural companion to the table rather than a wine to admire in isolation. Drink now through 2028.

CHATEAU BELLEGRAVE (POMEROL)

Set across 8 hectares in the south-western sector of Pomerol, Château Bellegrave rests on gravelly soils and iron-rich clays — the classic foundation of this Bordeaux appellation. The Bouldy family have steered this château since 1951; Jean-Marie Bouldy began the conversion to organic farming in 2001, earning ECOCERT certification in 2009 and extending the approach to full biodynamic viticulture. A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc faithfully expresses the fleshy, structured character that defines Pomerol. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of its organic commitment, the coherence of its terroir, and the consistent quality of its reds — wines that balance power with precision. A Pomerol of genuine conviction.
