Rich and inviting, with pronounced woody notes layered beneath dark cherry and subtle spice, unfolding gradually with aeration.
On the eye
Deep garnet, with a lustrous core and graceful rim development.
Breeding
Aged in French oak barrels, of which 50% are new
M. Francois
Haut-Carles proves itself a genuinely versatile companion to the table. Its restraint and refinement make it equally at home with roasted meats, game, or well-aged cheeses. A wine that complements rather than dominates, suited to the discerning diner.

CHATEAU DE CARLES

Set on the south- and east-facing slopes above the Isle valley at Saillans in the Gironde, Château de Carles covers 19 hectares within the Fronsac appellation, on the clay-limestone and clay-siliceous soils characteristic of the Fronsadais molasse. Built in the fifteenth century, the château has been in the Chastenet de Castaing family since 1900; in 2021, the fifth generation — Oriane Sallé de Chou and Éléonore de Lencquesaing — took the helm and launched a new qualitative chapter, earning HVE certification along the way. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of that generational renewal, the typicity of its Fronsac terroirs, and the coherence of a blend centred on Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. A Fronsac address well worth watching.
