Clos de l'Échelier represents the pinnacle of tension in Thierry Germain's portfolio. This is uncompromising winemaking: linear, vertical, crystalline in purity. It evokes a great Chablis Grand Cru more than a classical Loire Chenin. Pure terroir, a true 'blade of rock' with impressive energy and saline length. Gastronomic wine of considerable emotion. Domaine des Roches Neuves is a wine estate in the Saumur-Champigny appellation (Loire Valley), run by Thierry Germain. Around 28 hectares farmed biodynamically. Main grapes: Cabernet Franc (reds) and Chenin Blanc (whites). Limestone tuffeau soils. Cuvées: Terres Chaudes, Marginale, Franc de Pied. Wines of great precision and fine depth.
