A beguiling sweetness at the heart of Jurançon

  • The Cuvée Jean 2015 from Château Jolys is a distinguished Jurançon moelleux, crafted from Petit Manseng, the region's signature varietal. This vintage exemplifies the terroir's capacity to produce wines of genuine complexity and finesse.
  • The wine achieves a refined equilibrium between residual sweetness and acidity, with characteristic aromas of exotic fruits and candied citrus notes. This balance is the hallmark of Jurançon's finest moelleux expressions.
  • Equally at home as an apéritif or paired with foie gras, blue cheeses, sheep's milk varieties, or fruit-based desserts, this wine elevates the table with understated elegance and genuine food compatibility.

In the mouth
The palate opens with roundness and freshness, delivering the exotic character suggested on the nose. The acidity provides structure, preventing any sense of heaviness, whilst the residual sugar integrates seamlessly.

The bouquet is refined and delicate, revealing notes of apricot and white peach, with hints of pineapple and passion fruit. The aromatic profile is typical of well-balanced Jurançon moelleux.
On the eye
Brilliant golden hue with luminous intensity.
Breeding
Aged 12 to 18 months in oak barrels, imparting subtle vanilla and caramel aromas whilst preserving the fruit
M. Francois
An excellent apéritif wine with considerable versatility. Pairs admirably with foie gras, smoked salmon, and blue or sheep's milk cheeses. Also complements chocolate-based desserts and fruit tarts with notable grace. The 2015 vintage demonstrates the consistency Château Jolys brings to this appellation.

CHATEAU JOLYS

Set on 40 hectares of south-facing slopes at Gan in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Château Jolys is the largest independent property in the AOC Jurançon. Founded in 1964 by agronomist Pierre-Yves Latrille, the estate was acquired in 2019 by Michel Boutin, who has preserved its identity while bringing fresh ambition to the vineyard. Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng grow on silico-clayey soils scattered with rounded pebbles, with the Pyrenean panorama shaping the microclimate and lending the whites their distinctive character. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the consistency of its range, the typicity of its Jurançon whites, and the rare achievement of working a large terroir without sacrificing precision. A dependable reference from the Sud-Ouest.
