Christian Veyry took over the property in 1987 with a clear ambition: to show that the Bordeaux right bank, even on a very small scale, could produce wines of genuine distinction. Rather than rushing to market, he spent ten years working the vines before releasing his first vintage in 1997. That patient, unhurried approach — unusual in an era when commercial pressures often dictate the pace — set the tone for everything that followed. Veyry's background as a consulting oenologist, formed in the orbit of Michel Rolland, gave him both the technical rigour and the philosophical framework to pursue quality without compromise. The château is not a grand estate in the classical Bordeaux sense; it is a small, hands-on operation where every decision in the vineyard and the cellar is made with the finished wine in mind.
