One of Pomerol's earliest châteaux

A new chapter from 2007

In 2007, Château la Pointe was acquired by Generali France from the d'Arfeuille family, marking the beginning of a thorough modernisation programme. The winery was entirely rebuilt and re-equipped, bringing the technical facilities in line with the ambitions of the estate. This investment was not merely cosmetic: it signalled a long-term commitment to quality across every stage of production, from the vineyard to the vat room. The estate subsequently achieved HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certification, a French environmental standard that recognises responsible management of biodiversity, water use, plant protection and fertilisation. Terroir and viticulture

The 23 hectares of Pomerol are planted on a mosaic of soils characteristic of the plateau: gravel and pebbles, argilo-gravelly ground, and sandy soils over clay and graves. The encépagement is anchored by 85% Merlot, complemented by 15% Cabernet Franc — a proportion that is entirely typical of the appellation and well suited to the depth and texture these soils can deliver.
