Breeding
Approximately 12 to 14 months in barrels with approximately 35 to 50 per cent new oak
On the eye
Deep purple with violet reflections, intense and luminous in its youth.
On the nose
Dominated by red and dark berries—raspberry, black cherry and blackberry—with floral notes of violet and peony woven throughout.
In the mouth
The tannin structure is remarkably fine-grained. Perfect equilibrium between the ripeness of Merlot and the mentholated freshness of Cabernet Franc creates a wine of considerable refinement.
La Pointe has become Pomerol's champion of elegance. Whilst neighbouring châteaux pursue power and opulence, this estate chooses distinction and vibrancy. A civilised, consistently reliable wine offering one of the appellation's finest expressions of quality, emotion and value. Equally suited to cheese or chocolate dessert.

CHATEAU LA POINTE
Château La Pointe is a wine estate in the Pomerol appellation (Bordeaux, Right Bank). Area: 23 hectares. Owned by the d'Arfeuille family. Grapes: Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%). Gravel and clay soils. One of Pomerol's largest estates by area. Winery renovated in 2014 by architect Arnaud Boulain. Aged in oak barrels for 16 months.
