The finest terroirs of the Domaine, expressed with distinction

  • This Gourverneur displays the structural balance and mineral precision characteristic of northern Rhône wines, yet retains the warmth and fruit-forward character of Luberon. A wine of genuine complexity and restraint.
  • Marked by considerable length on the palate and a refined tannic structure, this vintage demonstrates the serious ageing potential that defines the Gourverneur cuvée. Drink now or cellar with confidence through the next decade.
  • Domaine de la Citadelle has farmed organically since 2016 and holds HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certification, reflecting a commitment to sustainable viticulture and environmental stewardship across the estate.

Product features : Domaine de la Citadelle Luberon Gourverneur Saint-Auban 2014

Breeding
Aged in new oak for 60% and 40% in one-year-old barrels for 12 months
On the eye
Deep ruby-red robe of considerable depth and intensity
On the nose
Richly aromatic, with prominent notes of blackberry and blackcurrant woven together with liquorice, complemented by restrained vanilla and toasted oak. The bouquet unfolds with elegance and complexity.
In the mouth
Supple attack leads to a full-bodied palate with excellent structure. Ripe dark fruits and warm spice notes are supported by well-defined tannins and judicious oak treatment. Considerable length and finesse on the finish.
M. Francois
Particularly well-suited to risotto finished with young Parmigiano-Reggiano and Sarawak pepper, where the wine's structured tannins and fruit intensity complement the creamy richness of the dish. Also excellent with roasted game birds and herb-crusted lamb.
