I find this white Lagrima particularly useful in the cellar. Serve it chilled as an aperitif, or slightly warmer alongside foie gras or a grilled calamari salad. Its sweetness is restrained enough to work with savoury dishes, yet rich enough for light desserts. A genuine all-rounder from a house that understands Port's subtler possibilities.

Ramos Pinto is a port house founded in 1880 in Porto (Portugal) by Adriano Ramos Pinto. Part of the Champagne Louis Roederer group since 1990. Cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. Vineyards in the Douro Superior. Range: Tawny (10, 20, 30 Year), Vintage, Late Bottled Vintage, Dois Aviadores (dry Douro wines). Grapes: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz.
