Craftsmanship in the glass since 1750

  • A full-bodied Port with vibrant red and dark fruit character. The Burmester Ruby combines richness with elegant structure, avoiding the cloying sweetness found in lesser examples. Its aromatic complexity rewards both contemplation and food pairing.
  • The finish carries a distinctive spiced note that lingers pleasantly on the palate. This peppery quality adds dimension and prevents the wine from becoming one-dimensional, making it remarkably versatile at table.
  • Burmester's Ruby distinguishes itself through refined tannin architecture. Where other producers rely on residual sweetness, this wine achieves balance through structure—a hallmark of the house's two-and-a-half centuries of expertise.

Product features : Burmester Ruby

Breeding
Two to three years in large stainless steel vats or very large capacity oak foudres
On the eye
Deep ruby red, intense and luminous
On the nose
An immediate burst of ripe red and dark fruits: morello cherry, wild raspberry and blackberry dominate, with subtle undertones of spice and dried fruit
In the mouth
Fleshy and generous, with silky, well-integrated tannins. The wine is vigorous and full of life, where residual sugar amplifies the brightness of dark fruit rather than masking it. A satisfying, structured finish.
M. Francois
The Burmester Ruby is Port for the lover of pure fruit pleasure. In your cellar, it is an ideal companion to chocolate desserts and red fruit preparations. The house's signature is evident in its tannin structure—substantial enough to provide relief and complexity, yet refined enough to remain approachable. This is a Ruby that rewards both immediate enjoyment and modest cellaring.
