WINE | WHITE WINE | ALSACE | RIESLING
Bottle of : 75cl

Alsace's finest expression in a single bottle

  • A substantial Riesling of considerable structure and presence. This Grand Cru from the Sporen vineyard displays the breadth and solidity characteristic of the finest Alsatian terroirs, built to reward patient cellaring.
  • Powerful and exuberant on the palate, with profound extract and mature acidity. The wine possesses the concentration and mineral intensity that distinguishes Grand Cru Riesling from more modest appellations, yet retains the varietal's characteristic elegance.
  • The heavy clay and marl soils of Sporen impart a distinctive mineral character. These demanding terroirs yield wines of remarkable precision and expressiveness, where aromas emerge with clarity rather than diffusion.

In the mouth
The palate is taut and linear, with vibrant acidity that drives the wine forward. The finish is notably long, mineral and dry, with a subtle honeyed undertone that emerges only after the initial impression fades.
On the nose
The bouquet combines richness with refinement: white truffle, citrus blossom, and slate minerality emerge in succession. There is absolute purity here—no oxidation, no secondary notes, only the terroir speaking clearly.
On the eye
Brilliant pale gold, with the luminosity that speaks of careful winemaking and proper bottle age.
M. Francois
I would pair this with delicate seafood preparations—scallop carpaccio with citrus, or perhaps a refined cep velouté finished with truffle cream. The wine's mineral backbone and acidity cut through richness without dominating. This is a wine for the table of someone who understands Riesling's true range. Drink now, or cellar with confidence for another decade.

DOMAINE TRAPET

Based in Gevrey-Chambertin at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Trapet cultivates 15 hectares across Burgundy's most celebrated terroirs, including a parcel of Chambertin Grand Cru acquired in 1919. Founded in 1870 by Louis Trapet, the estate has remained in family hands for over 150 years. Jean-Louis and Andrée Trapet converted the entire vineyard to biodynamic farming in 1995 — today certified Demeter. The clay-limestone soils and well-drained calcareous slopes of Gevrey find their fullest expression through this rigorous approach. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this estate for the integrity of its biodynamic commitment across five generations and the precision with which its Pinot Noirs articulate the great terroirs of the Côte de Nuits.
