Terroir authenticity in every glass

  • The Château d'Anglès Classique 2023 La Clape Rouge expresses the character of this Mediterranean appellation with restraint and clarity. Deep in colour with aromatic depth, it rewards those seeking genuine expression of place over fashionable excess.
  • Silky tannins and measured structure make this an accomplished food wine. It complements charcuterie, grilled red meat, and aged cheese with natural grace, enhancing rather than overwhelming the table.
  • Organically farmed and traditionally made, this wine demonstrates that quality in Languedoc need not shout. A considered choice for the discerning drinker who values authenticity and balance.

Breeding
Development of aromatic complexity and natural stabilisation by gravity over 18 months in tank
On the eye
Deep red with dark reflections
On the nose
Ripe red and black fruits with subtle spice notes. The bouquet develops gradually, revealing mineral undertones characteristic of the La Clape terroir.
In the mouth
Supple and fruit-forward with fresh acidity. Fine-grained tannins provide structure without heaviness. The wine finishes with good length and composure.
M. Francois
An excellent match for cured meats and charcuterie. Particularly suited to grilled or sauced red meat dishes, and pairs thoughtfully with hard cheeses. Serve at 16–17°C to appreciate its balance and aromatic nuance.

CHÂTEAU D'ANGLÈS

Set on the maritime slopes of La Clape at Saint-Pierre-la-Mer in the Aude, Château d'Anglès covers 45 hectares of hard limestone scree and rounded galets within the Languedoc appellation, shaped by the Mediterranean. Documented as early as 1226 under the Baillys d'Anglès, the estate was restructured from 2001 by Eric Fabre — formerly technical director at Château Lafite Rothschild — and his wife Christine, bringing Bordeaux precision to a resolutely southern terroir. The result is a range of reds, whites, and rosés of genuine character, all produced under HVE certification. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this estate for its exceptional terroir, rigorous viticulture, and the clarity of its wines. A Languedoc of real substance, rooted in its soil.
