THEVENET QUINTAINE
Situated on the Quintaine hillsides between Viré and Clessé in Saône-et-Loire, this 15-hectare estate produces Mâcon blanc from white marl and clay-limestone soils at 250–300 metres altitude. The Thévenet family has farmed here since the fifteenth century; Jean Thévenet was among the first in the Mâconnais to embrace organic viticulture, handing over to his son Gautier in 2000, who secured Ecocert certification in 2008. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its organic farming, its disciplined yields of 42 hl/ha, and the mineral precision that defines its whites. A Mâconnais of real character, true to its terroir.
