Mineral elegance from Tonnerre's chalky terroir

  • This Bourgogne Blanc from Vignoble Dampt Freres demonstrates the distinctive mineral character of Tonnerre's limestone-rich soils. Its fresh, delicate aromatics and refined palate make it an ideal companion for discerning wine enthusiasts.
  • The wine reveals excellent balance between acidity and texture, with a saline minerality that defines the appellation. Its elegant structure and persistent finish suit seafood, lighter fish preparations, and creamy poultry dishes particularly well.
  • A classically proportioned Bourgogne Blanc that rewards careful attention. The 2023 vintage captures the purity and restraint characteristic of this historic Tonnerre producer, offering genuine complexity without ostentation.

Product features : Vignoble Dampt Freres Bourgogne Tonnerre Clos du Chateau

Breeding
Ageing 30% oak barrel, 70% stainless steel, approximately 10 months
On the eye
Golden-hued with pale reflections, suggesting good concentration.
On the nose
A refined, delicate bouquet revealing mineral notes of soft limestone, citrus fruit, fresh orchard apple, and subtle white floral nuances. The aromatic profile unfolds gradually, characteristic of quality Kimmeridgian terroir.
In the mouth
The palate is precise and mineral-driven, with a crisp, clean attack that evokes fresh grape flesh. Saline notes develop through the mid-palate, leading to a dry finish with subtle bitterness that gradually evolves towards a richer, more textured conclusion with aeration.
M. Francois
A versatile table wine suited to escargots, jambon persillé, poached or sauced fish, terrine preparations, cream-based poultry dishes, white meats, and creamy cheeses. Its mineral structure and moderate alcohol make it particularly suitable for leisurely meals where the wine's subtleties can be appreciated throughout the course.
