A discreet gem from the heart of Macon-Fuisse

  • This wine originates from a micro-terroir of just 87 ares, worked by seven generations of the Giroux family. The precise expression of limestone-rich soil and careful vineyard management yields a wine of considerable character and restraint.
  • The domaine practises organic viticulture with profound respect for both terroir and environment. Each parcel is tended with the knowledge accumulated across generations, reflecting a philosophy that quality emerges from harmony with nature.
  • Seven generations of vignerons have stewarded these vines, each bringing accumulated wisdom to the vineyard. This continuity of family stewardship ensures consistency of approach and deep understanding of the land's particular demands.

Breeding
Ageing in stainless steel on fine lees for 20 months
On the eye
Pale gold with soft golden reflections, suggesting ripeness without heaviness.
On the nose
Aromas of baked apple and roasted hazelnut, with delicate acacia blossom notes. The bouquet unfolds gradually, revealing the wine's mineral underpinnings.
In the mouth
Opulent yet structured, with a pronounced saline minerality that carries through to a lengthy finish. The palate demonstrates fine balance between richness and freshness, characteristic of the finest Macon-Fuisse expressions.
M. Francois
This wine proves an accomplished companion to shellfish and seafood preparations. The mineral salinity and weight of the wine complement oysters, scallops, and crustaceans with particular elegance. Its structure also suits white fish dishes prepared with subtle sauces.

DOMAINE GIROUX

Based in Fuissé in Saône-et-Loire, Domaine Giroux tends 7 hectares of Chardonnay across the Pouilly-Fuissé, Pouilly-Loché and Mâcon-Fuissé appellations. In 2009, Sébastien Giroux stepped away from a career in automotive mechanics to take over the family estate founded by his father Yves — a deliberate return to the land that has shaped a rigorous, no-nonsense approach to winemaking. The estate's white wines are marked by the mineral tension and precision characteristic of the Mâconnais limestone terroirs. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the honesty of its cuvées, the depth of its family roots, and the consistency Sébastien Giroux brings to every vintage. A reliable address for lovers of fine Burgundian Chardonnay.
