Breeding
12 to 18 months in large wooden vats of 12 and 25 hectolitres (no new oak to avoid excessive woodiness).
On the eye
Deep ruby-red with violet reflections in youth, evolving towards garnet with age. Clear and luminous.
On the nose
Wild raspberry, blackcurrant and blackberry mingle with pronounced mineral notes—flint and graphite—alongside violet and faded rose. White pepper and liquorice complete the profile, with no herbaceous character.
In the mouth
Pure, direct attack with remarkable energy. Silken texture throughout. The tannins are exceptionally fine and powdery, a gift from the age of the vines. Elegant and composed.
Domaine des Roches Neuves has produced one of the Loire's finest red wines with Les Mémoires. This Saumur-Champigny originates from Cabernet Franc planted in 1904, making it among the region's oldest vineyard parcels. A wine of genuine pedigree and terroir expression.

Domaine des Roches Neuves is a wine estate in the Saumur-Champigny appellation (Loire Valley), run by Thierry Germain. Around 28 hectares farmed biodynamically. Main grapes: Cabernet Franc (reds) and Chenin Blanc (whites). Limestone tuffeau soils. Cuvées: Terres Chaudes, Marginale, Franc de Pied. Wines of great precision and fine depth.
