On the eye
Bright ruby, with good clarity and depth of colour
On the nose
Ripe red and dark stone fruits with subtle herbal undertones. Air opens out secondary notes of garrigue and white pepper, characteristic of the southern Rhône.
In the mouth
Supple and rounded on entry, with fine-grained tannins that provide structure without heaviness. The finish is clean and persistent, with good balance throughout.
This is a wine that rewards patience. Pair with roasted lamb, venison, or casseroled game birds. Also excellent with aged Comté or Reblochon. The moderate alcohol and natural acidity make it one of the more food-flexible wines from the appellation. Drink now through 2032.

Domaine de Durban is a wine estate in the Beaumes-de-Venise and Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise appellations (Southern Rhône). Owned by the Leydier family. Around 40 hectares on the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail. Grapes: Muscat à Petits Grains (sweet wine), Grenache, Syrah (reds). One of the benchmark estates for Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise.
