The hallmark of Margaux elegance in magnum format

  • Chateau Cantenac Brown's 2022 vintage exemplifies the refined craftsmanship of Margaux. This Third Growth offers the complexity and structure that reward serious collectors, with the depth to develop gracefully over decades in a well-kept cellar.
  • The wooden case of six magnums suits those building a serious cellar. This vintage will evolve considerably with time, its structure and aromatic profile gaining nuance and richness as the wine matures, revealing layers of terroir expression.
  • Cantenac Brown represents the classical virtues of Margaux: finesse, elegance and restraint. This is a wine for those who understand that true luxury lies not in ostentation, but in the quiet confidence of authentic quality.

Product features : Chateau Cantenac Brown - 3eme Cru Classé 2022 — Margaux

Breeding
16 to 18 months in French oak barrels (approximately 60% new wood).
On the eye
Deep garnet robe with ruby highlights. Limpid and brilliantly lustrous.
On the nose
A pure, floral bouquet opening to red fruits—raspberry and redcurrant—with fresh cassis. The terroir speaks through violet, liquorice and a whisper of cedar.
In the mouth
Dense and structured, marked by fine-grained tannins and well-integrated oak. The wine carries weight without heaviness, with a mineral backbone that speaks to Margaux's gravelly left bank terroir.
M. Francois
A natural companion to a cheeseboard—particularly the great cheeses of the Aquitaine region. The wine's acidity and tannin structure complement aged Comté, creamy Époisses, and the region's goat cheeses with particular grace. Serve at 16-17°C after decanting thirty minutes before service.

CHATEAU CANTENAC BROWN

A Third Grand Cru Classé of the Margaux appellation, Château Cantenac Brown extends across 60 hectares of deep gravel soils on the Cantenac plateau in the Gironde. Founded in 1806 by the Scotsman John Lewis Brown — who commissioned a striking neo-Tudor château quite unlike anything else in the Médoc — the estate was acquired in December 2019 by the Le Lous family (Urgo group) for approximately €150 million, bringing fresh ambition and a new rammed-earth winery inaugurated in 2023. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the precision of its blend — Cabernet Sauvignon-led, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot — and for the long-term vision being applied to one of Bordeaux's most celebrated terroirs. A Médoc classic, renewed with purpose.
