Late-harvest elegance from the heart of Gascony

  • This late-harvest moelleux from Domaine Chiroulet expresses the generosity of Gascon terroir. Each glass reveals the interplay between natural sweetness and subtle complexity, offering a considered drinking experience rather than simple indulgence.
  • The 2024 vintage captures ripe stone fruit and dried fruit notes within a framework of refreshing acidity. The texture remains delicate and refined, avoiding the heaviness that can characterise lesser moelleux wines.
  • Versatile in the glass, this wine suits apéritifs, afternoon service with biscuits, and dessert courses alike. It pairs thoughtfully with foie gras, citrus tarts, and fresh fruit desserts, offering genuine alternatives to Jurançon or Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh.

Breeding
Ageing in stainless steel on fine lees to preserve aromatic purity and crisp fruit character
On the eye
Pale golden yellow with greenish glints
On the nose
Fresh orchard fruit mingling with dried apricot and subtle honeyed notes, creating an inviting aromatic profile without cloying sweetness
In the mouth
Elegant and well-balanced, with citrus notes providing tension against the wine's inherent sweetness. Charming and refreshing, it invites a second glass rather than overwhelming the palate
M. Francois
Where some liquoreux wines saturate the palate, this wine demonstrates genuine equilibrium between richness and vitality. The acidity carries the sweetness gracefully, making it suitable for apéritifs, afternoon service, and dessert courses. An excellent companion to foie gras and citrus-based desserts. A serious alternative to the better-known sweet wines of the southwest.
