Approximately 12 to 18 months in oval wooden vats of 12 to 25 hectolitres
On the eye
Vivid ruby with violet reflections; a wine of clarity and definition.

Elegant and restrained. Cherry and strawberry fruit emerge with mineral undertones, suggesting slate and flint rather than overripe abundance.
In the mouth
Ample and supple, yet driven by a taut mineral spine. The palate moves from generous mid-palate through to a lifted, precise finish that lingers with quiet authority.
Where La Marginale commands through power, Clos de l'Echelier seduces through finesse. This is Saumur's most Burgundian expression—a wine of Chambolle-Musigny refinement. Domaine des Roches Neuves is a wine estate in the Saumur-Champigny appellation (Loire Valley), run by Thierry Germain. Around 28 hectares farmed biodynamically. Main grapes: Cabernet Franc (reds) and Chenin Blanc (whites). Limestone tuffeau soils. Cuvées: Terres Chaudes, Marginale, Franc de Pied. Wines of great precision and fine depth.
