In the mouth
White and exotic stone fruits dominate the palate, supported by crisp citrus (lemon, grapefruit) and delicate floral notes (acacia, hawthorn, rose). The finish is mineral and precise.
Clos Romans occupies the same reference position in Saumur Blanc as Montrachet does in Burgundy. Germain has captured the pure energy of schist and limestone. Main grapes: Cabernet Franc (reds) and Chenin Blanc (whites). Limestone tuffeau soils. Cuvées: Terres Chaudes, Marginale, Franc de Pied. Wines of great precision and fine depth.
