Mountain terroir, mineral freshness, aromatic complexity

  • This white wine balances aromatic richness with refreshing acidity, revealing remarkable complexity on the palate. The interplay of exotic fruit, citrus and mineral notes creates an elegant, layered drinking experience.
  • A versatile table wine suited to refined dishes: white fish, poultry, aged goat's cheese and lighter seafood preparations. Its mineral structure and length make it equally rewarding as an aperitif wine.
  • Albedo possesses genuine cellaring potential. The wine's mineral framework and balanced acidity suggest it will develop greater depth and nuance over five to ten years, rewarding patient collectors.

Breeding
Pale yellow robe with brilliant golden highlights
On the eye
Pale straw colour, bright and translucent
On the nose
Complex and expressive bouquet: preserved citrus, mango and pineapple aromas, white flowers and honeyed notes. Mineral undertones complete the profile, suggesting the wine's mountain provenance.
In the mouth
Ample and elegant on the palate with pronounced mineral tension balancing the wine's natural richness. Exotic fruit flavours (mango, pineapple) meld with grapefruit and honey, finishing with saline minerality and sustained aromatic persistence.
M. Francois
Albedo exemplifies the quality potential of Irouléguy's steep, high-altitude vineyards. This is a white wine of genuine distinction: aromatic complexity allied to mineral precision and length. Ideal for the serious collector seeking elegant, age-worthy whites from France's lesser-known regions.

DOMAINE BRANA

Perched on the steep Basque slopes of Ispoure and Bussunaritz in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Domaine Brana farms 16 hectares in organic conversion at the heart of the Irouléguy appellation. Rooted in the wine trade since 1897, Martine and Jean Brana established the first independent estate in the AOC in 1984, playing a decisive role in reviving white wine production here. On red triassic sandstone, argilite, and limestone, Tannat, Cabernet Franc, Gros Manseng, and Petit Manseng yield structured reds and characterful whites of real distinction. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this estate for its historic place within one of France's most discreet appellations and for the precision with which it interprets these remarkable Pyrenean terroirs.
