On the eye
Pale garnet robe with ruby and magenta highlights, suggesting freshness and elegance.
On the nose
Complex bouquet of rose petals and peony, layered with blood orange and red fruit notes. The aromatics develop gradually, revealing subtle floral and citrus dimensions.
In the mouth
Refined structure with fine tannins and subtle bitter notes that lend nobility and length. The palate is elegant rather than heavy, with good balance and a clean finish.
This wine demonstrates the particular charm of Provence reds: approachability married with genuine complexity. The interplay of delicate florality and red fruit, supported by restrained but present tannins, makes it versatile at table. I find it particularly suited to Mediterranean cuisine and lighter poultry dishes. Drink now through 2027.

CHÂTEAU MALHERBE
Set across 25 hectares of south-facing coastal slopes at Bormes-les-Mimosas, Château Malherbe produces red, white and rosé wines under the Côtes de Provence appellation. Originally a farm attached to the Fort de Brégançon, the estate was acquired by Louis Ferrari in 1935 and has been guided since 2007 by Sébastien Ferrari, who steered it towards Demeter-certified biodynamic viticulture — deepened in 2020 by the arrival of Burgundian winemaker Philippe Pacalet. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this estate for the rigour of its biodynamic conversion, the diversity of its soils — silver schist, red clay, sandy alluvium and quartz — and the aromatic precision this mosaic of terroirs yields. A Provence address well worth the attention of discerning amateurs.
