A distinguished Languedoc estate at its finest

  • This wine exemplifies the character of Pic-Saint-Loup: a harmonious blend of ripe fruit, structure and finesse. The palate shows admirable balance between power and elegance, with the terroir clearly expressed through its mineral backbone.
  • A natural companion to grilled meats and robust fare. The wine's silky tannins and dark fruit character make it equally suited to game, beef and Mediterranean herb-crusted dishes.
  • Chateau Puech-Haut remains one of Languedoc's most respected producers. This vintage delivers genuine substance and generosity without pretension—a serious wine that rewards attention.

Breeding
Ageing in stainless steel and sometimes partly in used oak barrels to stabilise the structure without masking the terroir's character.
On the eye
Deep garnet with blood-red highlights. A wine of evident concentration and maturity.
On the nose
Complex bouquet of dark berries—blackcurrant and plum predominate—with subtle oak influence and a mineral undertone characteristic of the appellation.
In the mouth
Ample and rounded on the palate, with silky tannins that frame layers of red and dark fruit. Cherry and crushed strawberry meld with restrained oak, leading to a long, clean finish.
M. Francois
This is a wine of substance suited to the table rather than the glass alone. Serve with grilled red meats, game, or robust Mediterranean cuisine. The structure suggests it will develop gracefully over the next five to seven years, though it drinks with considerable pleasure now.

CHATEAU PUECH-HAUT

Set on the argilo-calcaire slopes and rolled-pebble soils of Saint-Drézéry, north-east of Montpellier, Château Puech-Haut farms 150 hectares in organic conversion within the Languedoc appellation. Founded in 1980 by Gérard Bru on what was once dense garrigue and olive groves, the estate has steadily established itself as one of the region's most consistent addresses, blending Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre for its reds, and Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier for its whites. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the coherence of its range, the precision of its assemblages, and the fresh momentum brought since 2024 by incoming managing director Arnaud Demongeot. A reliable, characterful choice for those who want the Languedoc at its most complete.
