A benchmark estate and reference point in Languedoc

  • This Reboussier cuvée merits the attention of serious collectors. Puech-Haut has established itself as one of Languedoc's most consistent and thoughtful producers, with a philosophy that respects both terroir and the integrity of the vintage.
  • The wine presents considerable intensity and layered complexity. Dark berry fruits and plum are complemented by fine, almost chalky tannins that provide structure without heaviness, whilst a vein of mentholated freshness sustains the palate.
  • For those who appreciate Carignan in its finest expression. This variety thrives in the Languedoc's schist-based soils, and here it demonstrates why it remains central to the region's identity—offering depth and character without sacrificing elegance.

Product features : Chateau Puech-Haut - Coteaux du Languedoc Rouge Reboussier 2021

Breeding
Approximately 12 months in wooden foudres and concrete vats to soften the tannins without imparting excessive oak character
On the eye
Deep purple robe with violet reflections. Limpid and concentrated, without opacity.
On the nose
Intense and fresh aromatics centred on dark fruits—bilberry and wild blackberry—with notes of ripe plum and subtle spice.
In the mouth
Disciplined and linear on the palate. The material is substantial yet carried by fine acidity that creates definition and verticality. Tannins are refined, almost chalky in texture. The finish is persistent, marked by spice and a whisper of mentholated freshness.
M. Francois
A wine of considerable poise that pairs beautifully with braised and sauced red meats—think beef in wine sauce or game preparations. The acidity and fine tannins also make it suitable for richer poultry dishes. Best enjoyed at cellar temperature, decanted briefly if serving immediately.

CHATEAU PUECH-HAUT

Set on the argilo-calcaire slopes and rolled-pebble soils of Saint-Drézéry, north-east of Montpellier, Château Puech-Haut farms 150 hectares in organic conversion within the Languedoc appellation. Founded in 1980 by Gérard Bru on what was once dense garrigue and olive groves, the estate has steadily established itself as one of the region's most consistent addresses, blending Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre for its reds, and Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier for its whites. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the coherence of its range, the precision of its assemblages, and the fresh momentum brought since 2024 by incoming managing director Arnaud Demongeot. A reliable, characterful choice for those who want the Languedoc at its most complete.
