Picpoul

The crystalline expression of Languedoc's finest Picpoul

  • From one of France's sunniest regions, this wine captures the essence of Mediterranean terroir. The result is a wine of considerable fruit intensity balanced by remarkable freshness and mineral precision.
  • The Carte Noire selection represents a rigorous curation of Picpoul vines, each chosen to express the distinctive character of the appellation. This is Picpoul de Pinet at its most articulate.
  • Beautifully balanced between vivacity and restraint, this wine proves itself an ideal companion to shellfish, grilled fish, and Mediterranean cuisine. It elevates rather than overwhelms the table.

In the mouth
On the palate, equilibrium prevails over acidity. Delicate citrus notes emerge alongside the characteristic slight bitterness of the Picpoul variety. The wine's mineral backbone—shaped by the region's homogeneous clay-limestone terroir opening to the sea—is evident throughout.
On the nose
A generous bouquet expressing white stone fruits and citrus. The nose is clean and inviting, with subtle mineral undertones characteristic of the appellation's clay-limestone soils.
On the eye
Golden yellow with bright, luminous reflections.
Breeding
Aged on fine lees to increase complexity and mouthfeel whilst retaining freshness.
M. Francois
The wine's crisp character and saline minerality make it an exemplary match for iodine-rich seafood: oysters, langoustines, grilled sea bass, and similar preparations. It possesses the precision to complement without dominating.
