The benchmark dry Pacherenc from Alain Brumont

  • A distinguished dry Pacherenc that demonstrates the serious potential of this south-west French appellation. Alain Brumont's meticulous approach to viticulture and winemaking is evident throughout.
  • This wine merits cellaring. Its concentrated bouquet and structural integrity promise graceful development over the coming years, rewarding patience with increasing complexity.
  • Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh ranks among France's oldest appellations, its heritage rooted in the foothills of the Pyrenees. This vintage upholds that tradition with distinction.

Breeding
Ageing in 600-litre barrels
On the eye
Clear golden-yellow with warm amber reflections
On the nose
Citrus notes mingle with dried fruits—hazelnut particularly—whilst subtle oak provides gentle structure without dominance. The bouquet unfolds gradually.
In the mouth
Rounded and supple, with excellent balance between richness and freshness. A mineral finish provides definition and encourages further sips. The wine possesses good length.
M. Francois
In youth, this wine complements white fish and lighter seafood preparations. As it matures, its increasing richness and textural depth make it particularly suited to foie gras and other luxurious poultry dishes. Decant young bottles to reveal their full character.

VIGNOBLES BRUMONT

Based in Maumusson-Laguian in the Gers, Vignobles Brumont spans 300 hectares across the Madiran appellation, on south-facing slopes of reddish rolled pebbles and deep clays. Since 1979, Alain Brumont has made Tannat his signature, establishing Château Bouscassé and Château Montus as the benchmark addresses of the Sud-Ouest — a standing confirmed by five stars from Bettane+Desseauve in 2023, the only estate in the region to hold that distinction. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its terroirs, the consistency of its élevage, and the remarkable ageing potential of its reds over a decade and beyond. A Sud-Ouest address we back without reservation.
