Domaine Peyre Rose cultivates 25 hectares of clay-limestone garrigue hillsides in Saint-Pargoire, Hérault, under certified organic farming and with yields held firmly below 20 hl/ha. Marlène Soria — a former estate agent who cleared scrubland by hand from the early 1980s before producing her first vintage in 1988 — has become one of the most singular figures in Languedoc-Roussillon, named 'Homme de l'année' by the Revue du Vin de France in 1994 and widely celebrated as the 'Diva of Syrah'. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the absolute coherence between an uncompromising terroir, some of the lowest yields in the region, and a vision sustained by one woman for over three decades.
