In the mouth
Full-bodied and ample, with silky tannins that provide structure without dominance. The wine shows good concentration and a lengthy finish that echoes the spice and dark fruit on the nose.
On the nose
Aromas of ripe kirsch and blackberry are complemented by warm spice box notes—cinnamon, clove, and white pepper—with a subtle mineral undertone characteristic of the terroir.
On the eye
Deep ruby, opaque at the core with a subtle garnet rim.
Breeding
It is aged in vat for the Grenaches and in oak barrels of 2 to 3 years for the Syrah and Mourvèdre.
This wine pairs beautifully with game dishes of substance: a civet of hare or a terrine of wild boar would be ideal companions. The tannin structure and spice profile complement rich, savoury preparations. Equally suited to roasted lamb or beef with herbs.

Vignobles Alain Jaume is a family wine estate in Orange (Vaucluse), Southern Rhône Valley. Founded in 1826. Around 85 hectares. Grapes: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Viognier. Appellations: Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Domaine Grand Veneur), Lirac, Côtes du Rhône, Vacqueyras. Organically farmed since 2010.
