Product features : Domaine Sauger Cour Cheverny des Lys 2022 — Cour Cheverny

Breeding
Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks
On the eye
Brilliant pale gold with subtle greenish highlights
On the nose
Complex aromatic profile: honeyed notes interwoven with acacia blossom, subtle white stone minerality, and a whisper of citrus zest. The bouquet unfolds with air exposure.
In the mouth
Dry and incisive on the palate, with lively acidity that defines the wine's structure. Subtle complexity develops through the mid-palate, finishing with admirable length and a mineral persistence characteristic of fine Romorantin.
M. Francois
In its youth, this wine pairs excellently with asparagus, delicate fish preparations, scallops, and poultry. After five to eight years of bottle age, it becomes a sophisticated partner for roasted fowl in sauce, lobster, or seared foie gras. The wine's evolving complexity rewards both near-term enjoyment and patient cellaring.

DOMAINE SAUGER

Based in Fresnes, Loir-et-Cher, Domaine Sauger covers 30 hectares across the AOP Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny appellations, on the sandy-clay and siliceous soils typical of the Loire Valley. Five generations have tended this land since 1870; Philippe Sauger took over in 1988 with just 7 hectares and has since grown the estate patiently to its current size, working Sauvignon Blanc, Romorantin, Pinot Noir and Gamay under Terra Vitis certification. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the clarity of its whites, the straightforwardness of its reds, and the consistency of a family approach built over the long term. A reliable reference for those wishing to explore Cheverny beyond the Loire's more celebrated names.
