The power and depth of Malbec reimagined

  • Jean-Luc Baldès has created a singular expression of Cahors that revisits the region's ancient winemaking heritage. The New Black Wine draws inspiration from medieval practices when Cahors wines were heated to intensify colour and concentration, creating the legendary 'Black Wine' of history.
  • This wine honours those historic techniques whilst embracing a contemporary vision. It captures the essence of what made Cahors wines celebrated across medieval Europe, reinterpreted through modern viticulture and winemaking expertise.
  • Built for cellaring, The New Black Wine develops considerable complexity over time. Its structure and intensity promise rewarding evolution, making it an ideal choice for those who appreciate wines that gain depth and nuance with patient ageing.
