Viognier and Chardonnay in perfect harmony—fresh, refined, distinctly South-Western

  • Jean-Luc Baldès, celebrated for Clos Triguedina's Cahors reds, has crafted a distinctive white blend that marries the aromatic finesse of Viognier with the rounded generosity of Chardonnay. This is a thoughtful departure from the estate's red-wine reputation, yet entirely consistent with its philosophy.
  • This white demonstrates the full technical mastery of the domaine. It brings a refined perspective to South-Western viticulture, offering complexity and elegance where one might expect rusticity. A wine of genuine character and restraint.
  • Drink this as an aperitif, or pair it with seafood, poached fish, roasted poultry in cream sauce, or soft cheeses. Its freshness and texture make it equally at home at table or in the glass beforehand.

In the mouth
Ample and round, with white-fleshed stone fruit, pear, citrus, and subtle exotic notes. Silken texture, well-balanced by crisp acidity on the finish. No heaviness; considerable elegance.
On the nose
Expressive and aromatic: white flowers, stone fruit (peach, apricot), citrus, and a whisper of exotic fruit. Mineral undertones add definition without intrusion.
On the eye
Pale golden yellow with bright, honeyed reflections
Breeding
Aged in stainless steel to preserve freshness and the pure expression of the varieties, with no oak influence
M. Francois
A well-composed white that respects both its components without favouring either. The Viognier contributes aromatic expression; the Chardonnay provides structure and roundness. The result is neither Burgundian nor Rhône-like, but distinctly its own. For those seeking a fresh, fruit-driven white with genuine refinement—and a departure from the obvious—this merits serious consideration.
