Ten generations of vignerons serving this distinguished terroir

  • This cuvée demonstrates the hallmark persistence and harmony that define Henri Bourgeois's approach to Sancerre. The wine's structure and balance reflect meticulous vineyard management and thoughtful élevage, resulting in a wine of genuine complexity and poise.
  • The terroir expresses itself with clarity and distinction in this vintage. The limestone-rich soils of Sancerre impart mineralité and definition to the Pinot Noir, creating a wine of genuine character that rewards careful attention.
  • This is a wine to discover over time. Its evolution in bottle is particularly rewarding, developing secondary notes and textural refinement as it matures. Cellaring for three to five years will reveal further layers of complexity.

Product features : Domaine Henri Bourgeois Sancerre Rouge Grande Reserve 2022

In the mouth
Good roundness and textural depth on the palate, with fine-grained tannins that provide structure without heaviness. The finish is clean and persistent, with lingering red fruit and mineral notes.
On the nose
Red fruit aromatics dominate—cherry and morello cherry—with subtle floral undertones and a whisper of mineral slate. The bouquet is refined and layered, developing with aeration.
On the eye
Brilliant garnet, with excellent clarity and a fine, persistent rim.
Breeding
Oak barrel
M. Francois
The aromatic amplitude of this wine makes it a natural companion to poultry and lighter game preparations, as well as braised red meats where its acidity and tannin structure provide excellent balance. It is equally rewarding as a contemplative glass on its own, particularly as it opens in the decanter.
