A Chinon refined through patient élevage and time

  • L'Huisserie represents the finest expression of Chinon's terroir. This Loire appellation jewel showcases the precision and restraint that define Philippe Alliet's philosophy—a wine of genuine substance rather than ostentation.
  • This is a Chinon that reveals itself progressively. Whilst approachable now, it rewards cellaring with developing complexity and greater textural refinement. A bottle worth revisiting across several years.
  • The 2022 vintage presents an ideal moment to discover this wine. Cabernet Franc from this vintage demonstrates the balance and mineral character that make Chinon so compelling for the discerning drinker.

In the mouth
The palate is defined by pure fruit expression and remarkably fine tannins that provide structure without heaviness. A mineral finish of genuine length concludes the wine with understated elegance.
On the nose
Red and dark stone fruits emerge first—cherry and plum—followed by a distinctive mineral note that speaks to the Loire's slate-rich soils. Subtle herbal undertones complete the bouquet.
On the eye
Deep ruby red with subtle garnet edges
Breeding
18 months in oak barrels
M. Francois
This Chinon pairs beautifully with traditional French farmhouse cooking—a coq au vin or poule au pot would be ideal companions. The wine's acidity and mineral character also make it excellent with roasted poultry, game, and aged cheeses. A genuine food wine that enhances rather than dominates the table.

Nicolas françois, propriétaire passionné des halles de quercamps

DOMAINE PHILIPPE ALLIET

Established at Cravant-les-Coteaux in the heart of the Chinon appellation, Domaine Philippe Alliet farms 17 hectares of Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc across clay-limestone, clay-siliceous and gravelly soils on south-facing slopes. Philippe Alliet, third generation of the family, took over in 1978 and forged a quietly influential style through the 1990s; his son Pierre joined him in 2005, strengthening a lineage built on precision rather than fashion. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its approach — biodynamic practices followed without the pursuit of certification — and for the clarity with which its wines articulate the distinct facets of the Loire terroir. A reliable address for those who want Chinon as it truly is.
