Breeding
In oak barrels (including a substantial proportion of new wood) for 18 months
On the eye
Deep purple robe, nearly opaque at the core, with vibrant violet edges.
On the nose
Expressive bouquet revealing dark fruits, truffle, warm spices, and subtle toasted oak. The aromatics speak to both richness and underlying mineral precision.
In the mouth
Intense and profound on the palate, with well-integrated tannins that provide structure without dominating. A wine of considerable presence and balance.
M. Francois
Troplong-Mondot exemplifies the paradox of great Right Bank Bordeaux: massively built yet possessed of a calcaire backbone that lends genuine breeding. Equally at home with fine cheese or at the finest table, this is a wine for the collector and the serious gastronome alike.

CHATEAU TROPLONG MONDOT

Château Troplong Mondot stands at the highest point of the Saint-Émilion appellation — 106 metres above sea level — across 33 hectares of clay-limestone soils with flint. Founded in 1745 and promoted to 1er Grand Cru Classé B in 2006, the château reached its zenith under Christine Valette-Pariente, whose 1990 vintage earned a remarkable 98/100 from Robert Parker. Since 2017, the French reinsurance group SCOR has ensured continuity, with the estate now engaged in organic conversion. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the consistency of its exceptional terroir, the precision of its Merlot-led blends, and a quality trajectory confirmed across vintage after vintage. A Saint-Émilion built for the cellar.
