A harmonious blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah

  • Cairanne holds a distinguished place within the Côtes du Rhône Villages appellation, recognised for its sun-exposed slopes and distinctive terroir. This cuvée exemplifies the region's capacity to produce wines of genuine complexity and character.
  • The wine achieves a pleasing equilibrium between its dark fruit character—blackberry, cherry and plum—and a savoury, well-structured palate. The tannins remain refined throughout, lending substance without heaviness.
  • The spice notes woven through this wine make it particularly well-suited to dishes with aromatic seasoning. It pairs notably well with lamb, particularly when prepared with warming spices and slow-cooked preparations.

Product features : Domaine Pierre Amadieu - Cairanne les Hautes Rives 2022

In the mouth
The palate is rounded and well-balanced, with fine-grained tannins providing structure. Flavours of spice, garrigue and forest floor develop through the mid-palate, leading to a fresh, clean finish that lingers pleasantly
On the nose
The bouquet opens with ripe dark fruits—blackberry, cherry and plum—complemented by subtle notes of garrigue and white pepper that speak to the wine's Rhône provenance
On the eye
Bright, clear garnet with good depth of colour
M. Francois
This wine demonstrates particular affinity with lamb shoulder prepared with four-spice seasoning and slow-cooked until tender. The wine's inherent spice notes and savoury character complement the richness of the meat whilst the freshness of the finish cuts through the dish's depth, creating a harmonious pairing that rewards both wine and food.
