M. Francois
This wine pairs beautifully with veal kidneys prepared with oyster mushrooms, where its acidity and red fruit character complement the richness of the dish. It would equally suit roasted game birds or fine charcuterie. Drink now through 2032.

CLOS RENE

Established across 12 hectares on the western slope of the Pomerol plateau, Clos René is one of the most deeply rooted châteaux in this celebrated Bordeaux appellation. Recorded as early as 1764 on the Belleyme map as 'Reney', it has remained in the same family for over a century, now under SCEA Garde-Lasserre — with Jean-Marie Garde, president of the Pomerol syndicate, at the helm. The blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec grows on ancient gravels and sands above a subsoil of crasse de fer, the plateau's geological hallmark. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this château for its territorial roots, the consistency of its vintages, and the standing of its owners at the heart of the appellation. A reference Pomerol of real character and dependable quality.
