Breeding
14 to 16 months in oak barrels, with approximately 40% new wood
On the eye
Deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, suggesting both youth and structure.
On the nose
Complex aromatics of ripe red fruits, forest floor and subtle spice. The bouquet unfolds gradually, revealing layers of dark cherry, undergrowth and a whisper of liquorice.
In the mouth
Structured and commanding, with silken tannins that frame the wine rather than dominate. The palate is substantial, almost chewy in its intensity, with a long, persistent finish and remarkable aromatic persistence.
This Corton possesses considerable temperament. Whilst Clos du Roi represents the finesse of Burgundy's Grand Crus, Corton embodies power. It does not yield easily, but rewards patience with wild, noble complexity. Few Côte de Beaune reds can match its authority. Ideal for significant occasions or the serious collector's cellar, this is a Grand Cru of proven merit.

Domaine Rapet Père et Fils is a family wine estate in Pernand-Vergelesses (Côte de Beaune, Burgundy). Around 19 hectares of vines. Grapes: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Appellations: Pernand-Vergelesses, Corton Grand Cru, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune. Organically farmed. Fine, authentic Côte de Beaune terroir wines.
