Four generations of family winemaking in Pauillac

  • Château Lynch-Moussas commands a vineyard of considerable distinction within the Pauillac appellation, one of Bordeaux's most celebrated terroirs. The estate's position on the left bank of the Gironde benefits from exceptional drainage and exposure, yielding wines of considerable structure and ageing potential.
  • Classified as a 5ème Cru Classé in the 1855 Bordeaux classification, Lynch-Moussas holds a position of established prestige among the region's finest properties. This ranking reflects the consistent quality and character of wines produced across generations.
  • This 2023 vintage exemplifies the house's commitment to wines of genuine ageing potential. The structure and mineral backbone evident on the palate suggest a wine that will develop considerable complexity over the coming decade, rewarding patient cellaring.

Product features : Château Lynch-Moussas 5ème Cru Classé 2023 Pauillac

Breeding
Ageing for 18 months in oak barrels, comprising 50% new oak and 50% one-year-old oak.
On the eye
Deep purple with violet undertones, suggesting good concentration and youth.
On the nose
The bouquet reveals layers of dark berries—blackcurrant and blueberry—complemented by rose petal and cocoa notes. Subtle hints of garrigue and smoke add complexity and suggest the influence of the terroir.
In the mouth
The palate is fresh and mineral-driven, with fine-grained tannins providing structure without heaviness. The wine displays good balance between fruit expression and the mineral character typical of fine Pauillac.
M. Francois
This wine pairs particularly well with lamb dishes of substance—a rack of lamb with wild mushrooms or a slow-braised gigot would complement its structure admirably. It would also suit beef preparations featuring earthy accompaniments such as cèpes or other autumn mushrooms. The wine's mineral character makes it equally at home with simply prepared roasted meats.
