The freshness and refinement of Loire Sauvignon

  • The Coteaux du Giennois, situated near Sancerre, is a discreet appellation of the Loire Valley producing characterful white wines. Its flinty and chalky soils impart distinctive minerality and vivacity to the Sauvignon Blanc grown here.
  • The Balland family has worked their vineyard continuously since 1650, bringing seven generations of viticultural knowledge to this small but respected domaine.
  • Cultivated under reasoned agriculture practices, this wine reflects the domaine's commitment to viticulture that respects both terroir and the natural environment.

Les Beaux Jours is a vibrant white wine that captures the essence of Loire Sauvignon. Its precision and balance make it an ideal companion to shellfish, grilled fish, or goat's cheese dishes. Equally at home as an aperitif or at table, this is a wine distinguished by its clarity of expression and mineral character.

DOMAINE EMILE BALLAND

Domaine Emile Balland farms 8 hectares across the communes of Bué and Amigny in the Cher, on the caillottes and clay-limestone soils that define the finest Sancerre terroirs. Emile Balland comes from a family rooted in Bué since 1650; a trained oenologist, he founded his own estate in 1999 after the enforced sale of the family domaine, beginning on the Coteaux du Giennois before returning fully to Sancerre. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the technical precision Emile brings to every parcel, the typicity of his terroirs, and the consistency of his Sauvignon Blanc whites and Pinot Noir reds alike. A serious reference for anyone seeking a grower's Sancerre genuinely anchored in its land.
