  • The 2018 vintage at Figeac benefited from ideal growing conditions that allowed perfect ripeness across the vineyard. This year ranks among the finest of the decade, delivering wines of considerable depth and balance.
  • Figeac embodies the hallmark elegance and finesse of Saint-Émilion's finest. The refined tannin structure and impeccable equilibrium reflect meticulous vinification and élevage, resulting in a wine of considerable complexity and grace.

In the mouth
Full-bodied and velvety, with considerable aromatic complexity. Silky tannins provide structure without heaviness, leading to a long, persistent finish that rewards patience.
On the nose
A complex and engaging bouquet: dark fruits, warm spice and subtle oak, with mineral undertones that speak to the terroir's limestone-rich character.
On the eye
Deep, intense ruby-red. The colour promises considerable concentration and richness.
M. Francois
This is a wine for those who understand Saint-Émilion's finest expression. Figeac 2018 will reward cellaring—the structure and balance suggest two decades of graceful development ahead. A benchmark vintage from a château that rarely disappoints. I recommend this to serious collectors seeking elegance over mere power.

CHATEAU FIGEAC

Set on the western edge of Saint-Émilion, Château Figeac extends across 54 hectares of Günzian gravel ridges — a terroir unlike any other on Bordeaux's Right Bank. Elevated to 1er Grand Cru Classé A in 2022, the château has been in the Manoncourt family since 1892; Frédéric Faye has led the estate since 2013, following sixty vintages shaped by Thierry Manoncourt. The blend, led by both Cabernets alongside Merlot, yields reds of remarkable aromatic precision and structure. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the singular character of its gravel terroir, the consistency of its style across decades, and the legitimacy conferred by its recent elevation to the very top of the Saint-Émilion hierarchy. An essential reference for any serious Bordeaux cellar.
