The essence of Roussillon in every bottle

  • A distinguished wine from Côtes du Roussillon, a region celebrated for producing rich and expressive reds. The terroir of southern France yields wines of considerable character and complexity.
  • The 2021 vintage brings together the principal varieties of Roussillon—Grenache, Syrah and Carignan—in a harmonious blend that reflects both the warmth of the region and the careful work of the vineyard.
  • Lais takes its name from a Jersey cow that grazed in this Catalan landscape, a reminder of the human and pastoral dimensions of winemaking at Domaine Olivier Pithon.

In the mouth
A wine of considerable depth and velvety texture. Dark fruit flavours—blackberry and dark cherry—are complemented by peppery spice and mineral notes. The structure is well-balanced, with fine tannins and a persistent finish that rewards contemplation.
On the nose
Aromas of dark berries—blackcurrant and plum—with subtle notes of white pepper and garrigue that speak to the Roussillon terroir. The bouquet develops with air.
On the eye
Deep ruby robe with appealing luminosity
Breeding
Ageing in concrete vat
M. Francois
This wine pairs admirably with grilled meats, game, and well-aged cheeses. Its complexity and restraint make it a thoughtful addition to a cellar of serious Roussillon reds. Drink now or cellar for five to seven years with confidence.
