Craftsmanship passed down through generations

  • This wine expresses the character of the Rhône's granitic soils with precision. The mineral foundation speaks clearly of place, whilst the blend of Marsanne and Roussanne demonstrates the domain's understanding of these complementary varieties and their potential when unified.
  • The marriage of Marsanne and Roussanne achieves a refined equilibrium. Marsanne contributes body and structure; Roussanne brings aromatic complexity and freshness. Together they create a wine of genuine balance and finesse, neither dominating the other.
  • Sourced directly from the domain and offered through Les Halles de Quercamps, this wine reaches you without unnecessary intermediaries. You benefit from our merchant's relationship with the producer, reflected in fair and honest pricing.

In the mouth
Balanced and precise, with a distinctive mineral tension that carries through to the finish. The palate is clean and focused, neither heavy nor thin, with good length and a dry, refreshing conclusion.
On the nose
White flowers—honeysuckle and acacia—mingle with citrus notes: lemon zest and grapefruit. A subtle mineral undertone suggests the granite bedrock beneath the vineyard.
On the eye
Golden yellow robe with bright, pale reflections
Breeding
3 months on fine lees

This wine pairs naturally with seafood and fish—sole, turbot, or shellfish preparations. It also complements poultry dishes, particularly those prepared simply to allow the wine's mineral character to shine. Consider it too with goat's cheese or lighter vegetable-based courses. Serve chilled, around 10–12°C.

DOMAINE COURSODON

Based in Mauves, Ardèche, Domaine Coursodon farms 16 hectares of steep granite and schist terraces in the Saint-Joseph appellation, Vallée du Rhône. Founded in the late nineteenth century, the estate has passed through five generations: Jérôme Coursodon joined his father Pierre in 1998 and has steadily established it as one of the appellation's most authoritative addresses, producing Syrah-based reds and whites from Marsanne and Roussanne. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the precision of its élevage, the taut minerality of its whites, and the depth of its reds from terraces overlooking the Rhône. A characterful, HVE-certified estate we recommend without reservation to lovers of serious Saint-Joseph.
