DOMAINE COURBIS
Planted on the steep Ardèche hillsides of Cornas, Domaine Courbis farms 8 hectares of decomposed granite soils in the northern Rhône Valley, planted exclusively to Syrah. A winemaking family since 1587, brothers Laurent and Dominique Courbis carry forward a tradition passed father to son since the sixteenth century, drawing from individual parcels a series of precisely defined cuvées — Champelrose, Les Eygats, La Sabarotte. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this estate for the rigour of its parcel-by-parcel approach, the clarity with which its granitic terroir speaks through each wine, and its consistency across successive vintages on an appellation we have followed closely for many years. Cornas at its most accomplished: structured, deep reds built for the cellar.
