Product features : Domaine Ferret - Pouilly-Fuisse Tête de Cru Clos des Prouges 2021 — Pouilly-Fuissé

In the mouth
Well-balanced between power and tension. The wine possesses sufficient structure to age gracefully, yet maintains the elegance expected of Clos des Prouges. Acidity is refined, the finish persistent and mineral.
On the nose
Subtle oak influence with a light toasted note, complementing rather than dominating. White stone fruit and hazelnut emerge as the wine opens, with a mineral undertone characteristic of the appellation.
On the eye
Pale yellow with green glints, suggesting youthful vigour and mineral character.
Breeding
25% new oak, 75% one to three-year-old barrels for 10 months. Then the entire blend aged on lees for 7 months.
M. Francois
Clos des Prouges represents the pinnacle of Domaine Ferret's work. This south-facing parcel, planted on limestone-rich soils, produces wines of notable complexity. The 2021 vintage demonstrates the domaine's commitment to quality: neither over-extracted nor under-ripe, it speaks clearly of its terroir. Suitable for cellaring, though approachable now with proper decanting.

DOMAINE FERRET

Based in Fuissé, Saône-et-Loire, Domaine Ferret covers 17 hectares across the south-facing slopes of Pouilly-Fuissé, at the heart of the Mâconnais. Founded in 1840 and shaped for over a century by a remarkable line of women, the estate was acquired in 2008 by Maison Louis Jadot, who has continued its transition to organic viticulture across a mosaic of limestone, clay-limestone, marl and schist soils. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its parcel classification — a legacy of Jeanne Ferret — the precision of its Chardonnays, and the integrity of a vineyard managed with genuine care on one of the Mâconnais's most complex terroirs. A reliable reference for lovers of fine white Burgundy.
